Winter Week 1 The Story of Jesus
Leaders, we are back for the Winter Season and kicking off a new year at the same time! And because you are leaders, I am going to unload on you what’s in my mind currently. I believe we–people in general–are in desperate need of connection and depth with each other. With this new year, I think a lot of people have hoped that things would be different, but it still feels all too much like 2020 and 2021, which is wearing people out. I think people are just worn thin and really worn down by the struggles that at times just don’t seem to ever let up. We are tired, impatient, frustrated, sad, and running low on hope, and that to me is a recipe calling for the Christian community to really come to life and shine. It is often that in hardship people give their life to God or change their ways and go from being on the sidelines to being true followers.
Through this season, I can guarantee there will be roadblocks, struggles, and frustration, but my prayer for you as leaders is that you persevere through those things, dive in, and then dig deeper. My prayer is that in this season we take those things hidden in us and reveal them to our peers, freeing them to follow suit. When we finally really put our true self out there, then we can truly experience God’s love for us. So, this season be bold, push deeper, take those risks, and just see what God does. God doesn’t waste hardships, and he is not absent in any of this.
Have a great week as we begin our Winter season of Community Groups!
