Fall Week 9 The Story of Jesus

Leaders, it is crazy to me that we are almost at the end of the fall Community Group season with only one more week to go. I hope this series in Mark is helping you and your group grow in your relationship with God. One of the things that really seems to be helping with this series is the communal reading plan and sharing. Even though groups will be coming to an end for the season, I would definitely suggest talking to your group about continuing on with the reading plan--even beyond the group season--to continue to invest in the spiritual growth of each other.

This week we will be digging into Mark chapter 2 and talking about the paralytic on the mat. One thing to keep in mind during your discussion is the statement Jesus made in verse 10 about his ability to forgive sin and what that really means for us. Another thing to focus on will be Jesus saying that he had come for the sinners and not the righteous. He said it in a bit of a sarcastic way because the “righteous” ones he referred to were the self-righteous who deemed themselves righteous although they were not. This statement brings us to the point that the only ones who Jesus did not come for are the ones who think they do not need him and so he gives them what they desire.

Have a great week, here are your resources.
